Transnomino overview
Transnomino offers a set of renaming actions, ranging from simple text replacements to more complex replacements using regular expressions (regex). Any number of these actions can be placed in sequence and you can directly preview the results while you create them. Renaming sequences can be saved as a recipe to be re-used later.
Numbering can be added to the beginning or end of the filename. It's possible to exactly specify the number of digits to allow for better sorting of the files by filename. The files in the list can be dragged and dropped to change the order.
All renaming actions can be applied to the Name, Path or Extension of the files.
Transnomino supports insertions of File Attributes from the files like: EXIF, ID3, FLAC. And if EXIF GPS Longitude and Latitude data is available it is even able to use this information to lookup Address information.

What’s new in version 8.4
New Feature:
- Improved empty folder handling. While renaming folder names, any leftover empty folder will be removed. Previously a folder is considered empty in case it only contains a “.DS_Store” (mac) and now it is also considered empty when it only contains a “Thumbs.db” (windows) file.
- Lookup Conversions now support Case Insensitive mode. This is useful when used as a find/ replace of strings.
- Added support for .mov file attributes.
- CSV import now supports semi colon, comma and tab as separator.
Bug Fixing:
- Fixed issue causing the file inspector to show the wrong file details when the list of to be renamed files is filtered.
- Fixed issue causing files that got an automatic unique suffix to be moved into its parent folder.
- Fixed issue causing Append/Replace dialog to appear unnecessarily when files are opened from a Quick Action; Files opened from a Quick Action or dragged into the window will now always be appended.
- Fixed issue causing undo/redo to not work properly with the Conversion Lookup table.
- Fixed issue causing import CSV to at least expect three columns to be present in some cases.

I have been using Transnomino for a long time and find it better than paid for apps. The developer has always been responsive and very polite. If you are looking for a file renamer, I really like how you can create "recipes" that you can save and use different "recipes" depending on what kind of renaming you need to do. Very well done and so many options, but not cluttered. Very easy to use.

Great app. Saved me lots of time with regex, plus the regex helper tool is great. Regex can be a bummer to learn, and this makes it easy peasy.
