JWOOD09  My primary goal was to protect my mac login with a password, but since I hate to enter passwords I've tried Rohos key program. The install and USB stick setup was easy. Login works very well - it just autoenters my pass into mac os login box. exact what i needed. when i open my macbook I see locked screensaver, upon usb key insertion rohos autoenters my passw into unlock window. then I can remove usb key. I know that I need close the lid in order to lock my mac. thats easy. If I forgot my USb stick somewhere I can just enter password manually (to use this optin set a check 'use locked screensaver' ). For a two week of usage i dint encountered any issues with it.

SOUNDMAN  IMHO, this app. is unusable in it's current state. I bought a license but after finding out that the app. leaves sensitive info (usb key id #) in log files and also some worrisome info in the system log ( something to do with Rohos and the net, though the devs. swear that Rohos sends nothing over the web, they don't explain further and, well ,check out the bloody sys log when the app. is open.Uninstalled app. manually, their uninstall app. crashed upon opening, everything and I mean everything to do with app. Now, when I reboot with comman-option-eject, I get a blank screen with the Rohos icon and a password entry slot. I have no boot options. I can only get back into originating volume. Also single user mode doesn't work.

Had high hopes for the app. but these guys need to put more work into it.

This is for the previous version but devs. don't mention any fixes the my problems in 1.4.2

ROHOZ  On our forum we replied to you on the same day: that Rohos doesnt send anything on the web.

Now the logs are written to Console optionally (off by default).

COUNTPOLLEN  This software is unsafe (could lose usb stick) and thus not recommendable.

Further, I think that it is also quite unnecessary.

Another minus is that you lose a precious usb port for the key.

Several other negative posts on forums can be found by a simple web search.

Fingerprint security built in to MacBook (Pro)'s would be nicer.

MISTERLISTER  You may find it unnecessary or unsafe, but many other people feel there is a need for such a thing, in fact, it's not the only product of its type.

ROHOZ  Version 1.4.3 doesnt require to keep USB stick in USB port always (due to 'nothing' removal action). With this option you need to plug usb key only to login/unlock. Also if you lost USB key you can still login with a password or a second USB key.

To make Rohos more safer - use option 'Activate password protected screensaver upon usb stick removal'.

TRON15  due to their fast, excellent technical support it was possible to modify the system startup and avoid the error cause obviously by an bundle compiled for the PPC instead of Intel. Meanwhile, a Intel version should be available.
